Hi, I’m Hannah.

It’s hard to write an artist or photographer bio that hasn’t been written before. All the things I feel about my work sound so cliche – I love having a camera in my hands. I see light everywhere, all the time. I love faces and human creativity, and I love being invited into your lives, moments, and businesses. It doesn’t make any of it less true, but I know you’ve read it before. The number of times I’ve written an about me blurb only to scrap it, ball it up, and throw it toward a trash bin.

Honestly it’s just … in me. It’s the thing that has been constant for me through a life of wild ups and downs. I clung to it through high school and trauma and single parenthood and illnesses and therapy and a pandemic and coming out as queer. My camera and my pen have been my friends, my tools to help me process a world that sometimes makes so little sense.

So, let’s keep trying to make some sense of it, friend. If it’s time to add some fresh photos to your one weird and precious life, let’s talk. It not, we can still talk. I believe in you either way.

I think the last few years have jaded a lot of us when it comes to art.

It makes us wonder if there is still worthiness in this pursuit, if enough people still find value in this kind of work for it to be viable. But honestly, if I never accepted a dime for this work again I’d still find the time to do it somehow. I’d still follow my own kids and dog and partner around with a camera and take too many frames to count and have to buy a new hard drive to hold them all.

Let’s make some magic.
